be
thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;
3 And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:
4 That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel. 1Kings 2:2b-4
I read this in my daily Bible reading one day, & I started to ponder. How do we shew ourselves a man?
I suppose the best way to know how to shew thyself a man is to figure out what we are not to be. First of all we should not have any characteristics pertaining to a woman, I hope I do not have to explain that. Secondly ~ to have low morals, Third ~ to be blood thirsty, Forth ~ to be an hypocrite, Fifth ~ a strange man, being loose. Sixth ~ being desperately wicked, Seventh ~ to have no fear of God, Eighth~ to have no desire about the things of God, Ninth~ to have no care about the house of God, Tenth ~ to live like we have no worries about eternity. I know there are several others but here are the basics that I have come up with, I’m sure several of you can come up with others.
Let me ask you something are one or any characteristics of the negative side of “shew thyself a man” HONESTLY?
Ok, enough time to ponder. How do we shew ourselves a man? Well first of all we are suppose to be gentlemen, secondly ~ he is honest & respectful, third ~ he is a servant, forth ~ to be God fearing, fifth ~ to being concerned about our local church serving in it to the best of our abilities, sixth ~ to be a prayer warrior, seventh ~ to be a man to search out the answer from the Bible, eighth ~ to be a husband, father, & spiritual leader & physical leader of our home, ninth ~ to live a godly example, tenth~ to be help provide for your family, 11th ~ to be bold, 12th ~ to express your opinions openly / honestly, 13th ~ to make a decision & hold to it right or wrong, 14th~ to take responsibility of our actions, 15th to discern justly, 16th for our actions to be consent, 17th to be willing to learn, 18th willing to fix our mistakes no matter what the circumstances. .. I think that sums it up, I can’t think of anything to add.
