Looking Back!!!

As I think of the end of 2018 and the new year that just rounded the corner, and as we think and meditate on the past of 2018 and so many resolutions that will be made in the next day or so for 2019 and As we think back on our past memories good or bad , our past sorrows or blessings,  our past mistakes and achievements , failure and success, & our defeat and victory to just name a few, and
As I have reflected on these things I was thinking about Lot but specifically Lot's wife and how she turned back on the Lord. I know their family weren't very good Christians back in their time but bear with me. If we think of Lots wife as a Christian and the Lord directing her and her family a certain way that would be in the center of HIS will. But we see in scripture that she turned her back on God we see her turning back to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah for several reasons. First we see her turning away from God her Fame in the book of Genesis chapter 19 verse 1 states that her husband sat at the gate of the city, which makes us to realize he was a man of high standing and high position (vs1) in the community which in turn he was doing well in prosperity (vs3) she didn't want to leave her well being in the city and having to go up the ladder of fame again and having to rebuild her reputation and didn't want to forgo the affliction that she faced when she first came to the city many years ago and made her forget God, D.L Moody said "We can stand affliction better than we can prosperity, for in prosperity we forget God." Prosperity made her to suffer in her spiritual walk with God and caused her to forget God.  The next thing we see is that she couldn't bare the thought of leaving her Future, she had much possessions in Gen.13:5-7 it states that her husband had so much in an abundance that the Land was not able to bear Abraham and Lot at the same time. And Lot and their family chose the more fertile and selfish way and allowed Abraham the not so easy way.  Jerry Bridges said "Materialism wars against our souls in a twofold manner. First it makes us discontent and envious of others. Second, it leads us to pamper and indulge our bodies so that we become soft and lazy." Materialism makes us greedy, discontented, lazy, and just plain lustful and unless it is by God making us this way and that we keep our eyes on HIM not on others or things but on HIM. The Third thing we see is  her Family that she had to leave in Sodom because they didn't want to go with them. The family is something that always suffers weather great or small it may be. The closeness of family seems to be a thing of the past and not always being as close as we should or a supportive as it should be. She wanted them to be safe out of harms way and they chose not to come or grow close to the Lord which in turn made her turn back. She wanted a change but didn't have it, Ronald Reagan said "All great change in America begins at the dinner table", she wanted fellowship and communication and lost it. Fourth we go over into the book of 2 Samuel chapter 13 verses 1-14 we see that Friends can cause us to turn from God. It is wise to associate yourself with friends of wisdom and know Christ who will help all of us in our daily walk with Christ. No truer words can be said than that of George Washington when he said "Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation. It is better to be alone than in bad company." And last of all we see the Face of destruction which we see later in Genesis 19 Lot's wife looked back and she faced utter destruction and we see later on in the 2nd book of Samuel that Amnon was destroyed, they both looked back on God, and they didn't want HIS perfect will for their lives where it would be safe from anything saten threw at them., but instead decided to go their own way which lead to destruction. It comes down to this will we quit and look back at what could have happened and instead look for the future and plan on what could happen and plan on getting done and make our goals to accomplish that or will we keep to the past ? If we never set any goals we most certainly won't ever hit anything ~ Asher Neal
I for one am going to look to the future to serve the Lord and to not turn back on Him , will you do the same for this new year for 2019 no turning back???

Launch Out Unto The Deep

Launch Out Unto The Deep!
To launch out into the deep the question pops out how do we adventure out?
There are several ways we can and they are all interconnected.
First we have to have FAITH in God not only to save us from our sins but also to trust HIM that he knows what is best for our lives, and believe that HE knows what he is doing for our life.
Secondly we have to have the PRAYER LIFE that we need. We need to learn to listen to God's voice and also to be able to hear HIM through the WORD. To be in the right fellowship/communication with the Lord. And to be able to talk to HIM about anything no matter what it is. And to be able to approach HIM and ask for HIS forgiveness and to repent of our sins
Third we need to PREPARE to do the work of the Lord, and the call the Lord has placed on our lives. To be able to prepare like we should we need God's grace in our lives to show HIS mercy even we when go against HIM and sin and even walk away from HIM. Also to realize God's goodness into us even when we don't deserve it because at times the Lord chooses to give us blessings from where we have no idea where that came from. And then at other times when we do everything right and suddenly tragedy strikes and our lives are in shambles and our our heart is broken to pieces and our lives are broken knowing that it will never be the same weather or not it was God doing this or Saten but God turns it out for the good to accomplish HIS will. And HE will supply our needs to accomplish HIS will in our lives no matter the cost.
And forth the COST realizing to be God's will there will be sacrifices you and your family will have to make on a regular basis. Anyone that has a willingness to be used of God must have a servants heart to do whatever the Lord leads you to do weather it is to serve HIM as layman or God to call you to go somewhere specific and be servant to HIM and do what HE leads you to do. And to be steadfast in beliefs, faith, & conviction and to be uncompromisable and be unmovable. To see to truly cast out into the deep we have to realize we will have to forsake all we have to act and move doing whatever God wants us to do and going wherever HE tells us.
And the ASTONISHMENT of us realizing what God has, is, and will do for us and then remember where we came from the Lord blesses us. In reality it shouldn't be any surprise to us that the Lord blesses us magnificently and gives us a multitude of blessings all we have to do is let our nets down to be willing to receive HIS blessings.
Launch out unto the deep and cast out your nets!!!!

A Free Gift For You

A Special Invitation To You:
It's an invitation for you to receive Christ as your personal Saviour, receiving Christ as my Saviour was the best decision I ever made personally. I have never done drugs, or got deep into sin but I still was in desperate need of a Savior of my sin even as a young child. I realized God the Father sent HIS only son to die on the cross of Calvary and wash away the sins of the whole world and that HE loved us enough that He made a way for us to accept HIS gift of salvation(Rom.5:8) Then I realized my need of a Saviour was to wash away my sin with HIS sinless perfect blood that was shed when HE died on the cross of Calvary for my sins(John 3:16). Then I had to believe in Christ as my personal Lord and savior and trust HIM to wash away all my sins and remove them and know that it's not by works but it's by grace through faith(Eph.2:8-9). To know that nothing I can do will make me close to receive God's gift on my own merit(Rom. 3:23). To know that my sins will equal death and there is no redemption on my own merit (Rom. 3:10)but if I accept Christ as my saviour I can have life everlasting (Rom. 6:23). To confess with all your heart and believe in thine heart that Christ died on the cross of Calvary to wash away yours sin( Rom. 10:9-13).
